“To An Old Friend, It has been years since we spoke, but I still think about you every day. I…”

To An Old Friend, It has been years since we spoke, but I still think about you every day. I hate that our friendship ended, and I wish we could go back to the way it was in high school again, but I know it probably cannot. Is this just because we grew up and grew apart or for other reasons? I heard you have a child now, he’d have to be about 4 to 7 by now which is crazy. I hope he’s strong and healthy because I know how much you always wanted to be a mom and I can only imagine that a little mini-me of you running around with all the hell you raised in school! He’s going to grow up to be something else entirely. I wish you didn’t have to be this way. The more I think about our last talks and hear how you’ve changed, I wish I could’ve been there to help you or at least try. None of our old friends talk to you anymore and that makes me so sad. We were also close and now one of our own seems lost. Maybe it could’ve gone differently. Maybe it still can. Or maybe I’ll just continue thinking about what could have and should have been for us and mourning that lost friendship. I miss you, Your Best Dearest Friend
